There are three sandy beaches with some water facilities including windsurfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing and more. Plenty of excursions are available including a visit to Heraklion Museum, the Minoan Palace of Knossos, a trip to Malia and many other boat trips to other islands. Gouves has a selection of restaurants and tavernas which offer more traditional cuisine but the hotels serve a wide range of international menus. Nightlife in the resort is not very lively but there are a few bars and tavernas you can enjoy and number of hotels put on some brilliant evenings entertainment.
