Key
Anogia has a great tradition in music with concerts held in open theatres during the summer months playing traditional Cretan music, it also has cultural nights and attracts many visitors not only from Crete but from other parts of Greece. You can visit the Folklore Museum and see the weaving in progress as well as glass manufacturing. Anogia village of today has been built three times, it was burnt down twice by the Turks and once by the Germans. A visit to the breathtaking Nidas plateau 25km from the village and the Ideon Andron cave are very worth taking.

Anogia is a traditional mountain village with its inviting square and kafenion offering true Cretan hospitality, genuinely good food and local Raki. The aromas of cooking from the tavernas in the lower part of the village is also tempting.
